Conveniently located in the heart of Mackay’s entertainment, dining and central business district, Moss on Wood is a 7 minute taxi ride from Mackay Airport and just 5 minutes off the Bruce Highway (Nebo Road). Being an in-house restaurant and bar for our hotel Rydges Mackay Suites, we can also offer an all inclusive package when planning your event. Our creative catering team and well equipped kitchens enables us to tailor function menus to suit your budget or theme but you’ll probably find the menus we’ve pre-designed offer great value and choice.

You are able to hire Moss on Wood in its entirety with a banquet menu of your choosing – a great option for larger, celebratory dinners. The Moss on Wood experience is further enhanced by our attentive and experienced staff who will ensure you enjoy a wonderful event.
Private Function Rooms
Rydges Mackay Suites offers four private conference spaces that can be utilized for a wide range of events. These conference rooms can facilitate up to 300 people, depending on the style, with AV capabilities for presentations and speeches. This is the ideal option for functions such as dinner presentations, birthdays, wedding receptions, pre-event drinks & canapés and awards ceremonies.
Moss on Wood Break Room
This space can hold approx. 30 people for sit-down functions and approx. 40 for cocktail style. The Break Room is perfect for pre-event drinks & canapés as well as small banquet dinners. This space has a classic, exclusive cocktail feel with easy access to the bar for drinks and is able to be completely shut off from the main restaurant for extra privacy. Perfect for cocktail events, networking functions, pre-event drinks & canapés, and intimate banquet dinners.
